This time of year has a lot of people thinking on a grand scale. We put up outrageous Christmas displays. We make decadent goodies. We create lavish lists of gifts to get and give. Christmas can be hectic. I am not excluding myself from this group of over-doers. I fall into the same traps. The…

So this week is a week of excitement in my family. I’ll be headed to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to take my youngest girl for an interview at Wake Forest University. She is hoping to enroll in a Physician’s Assistant program this fall and we have been planning for an interview at another school in February.…

Boy oh boy, the shopping season has definitely hit us. Just this weekend I was at a hockey game and they had a FANTASTIC deal on all of their sweaters (that’s a jersey for you football and baseball fans). Now here it is “Cyber Monday” and my inbox is crammed with offers on goods from…

Wow! Last night I finally got the opportunity to see a recital at the Walt Disney Concert Hall at the Music Center in Los Angeles. I have been outside of this stunning building many times in the past and have been amazed at the architecture that features whimsical walls of curved sheets of stainless steel.…

Today we got up in the wee hours of the morning to drive to Orange County. My wife is having cataract surgery this morning, so we all piled into the “Jesus Chrysler” for a road trip.  Part of the surgery for the cataracts includes a Lasik procedure. I’ve always loved lasers, ever since seeing them…
