I guess a post about costumes may seem about 6 weeks late to some of you, but bear with me. Last night I was FaceTiming with my grandson Luc. When his dad answered he let me know that Luc wanted to “surprise” me with his Hulk costume. Grammy and I gave the required shocked response…

This last week I taught a lesson about my recovery “tool box”. It’s a metaphorical concept that helps me be ready for the problems that will eventually come my way. I can try to predict the mishaps and junk that I will encounter, but there are no guarantees. So I do what I can to…

So last week I wrote about the upcoming holiday. That means that today I should probably reflect back on the week that was. Sometimes looking into a mirror gives a clear picture of where I’ve been. This week feels a bit like a disco ball: lots of reflections but hard to really see an image.…

I was at a memorial service today for the drummer in the first worship team I ever served on, Cameron was a special soul. When I look back at all of the drummers that I’ve played with, he was not the best. He was not the most technically proficient. What he was was the most…

This is a tough time for your MoM. My youngest grandson is moving to Hawaii with his parents. He was born in Hawaii almost three years ago, but then moved to our town before his first birthday. We’ve gotten used to his presence in our lives. So much of my life has been focused on…

I’m spending today thinking about my yard because I’m spending today working on my yard. By the end of this week I’ll be done and people will tell me how nice it looks and they will be right. But it’s basically the same yard with a face lift. The real grass will be artificial. There…
