Ouch

Here I am, back in beautiful Hawaii once again. My daughter has hired me to help put in vinyl laminate flooring at her office. So yes, it’s a working vacation.

I spent my whole day putting in part of the flooring. I didn’t even get finished with the main entry room that I had hoped to finish. The first course of boards required an inordinate amount of cuts to go around doors and door jambs, so it literally took me almost 2 1/2 hours to place just five planks. Ugggh!

After spending about 12 hours there, I finished just about 2/3 of the room. Not good. To top it off I got a visit from the local police due to noise complaints just as I was cleaning up for the day. I now find myself in beg with a wicked lower back ache that is sure to be worse by morning.

It’s no fun being and old man with a bad back and a big flooring job to do. It is fun being with family. I suppose I’ll just take the good with the bad, and even though my knees are throbbing, I’ll find a way to…
