We took our grandson fishing at the beach this week. It’s sort of Island style, in the sense that we used a bamboo pole with fishing line and a hook. We were out for fun, not to eat! We made our way to some small tide pools and rocks on the coast. We didn’t see anything particularly interesting at first, but as one little fish started to get interested in our bait, others started to follow suit. Eventually we went from seeing minnows to having good sized eels come and check us out. We wound up catching two eels that were about 12” long.
In recovery we rarely start out with the big stuff. We tend to start our addictions small and work our way up the ladder. What used to be a minnow of no significance is now an eel that is big enough to jump out of your 5 gallon bucket! We need to keep and eye out for stuff, keep a lid on our bucket, and…
—Rise Up!!
