So last week I was chuffed about having that extra seat on my flight back east. I figured I should continue the story this week. It would seem that one of the things I used my extra space for was to temporarily put my ear buds down. Not the case, mind you, just the buds. On my return flight last Friday I reached into my backpack to get my earbuds only to discover that the case was still in my possession, but the case was empty! As near as I can determine, I put them down as we made our approach into Kansas City and forgot them.
So how does this tie in to recovery? (We know it does, because everything does!) Well, life brings me things that I can celebrate, but sometimes in celebrating I lose track of my priorities. I get so excited about a victory that I let my guard down and forget to act with intentionality. (The spellchecker is telling me that isn’t a word, but I want it to be. My blog – my rules!) When I don’t do things with purpose, I open myself up to errors, mistakes, and any variety of pitfalls. So last week I rose up with more space in the seat next to me. Today there’s more space in (not between) my ears and still I choose to…
–Rise Up!!
