As I was driving down the road to the prison, it occurred to me that if I stopped driving the car forward, I wouldn’t go any farther. It seems obvious, but you never move forward if you don’t change where you are.
I can apply that same principle to my recovery. If I allow myself to get stagnant, I won’t go anywhere. It’s important for me to keep moving, even though I’ve left the crazy place I started, I still need to keep moving. The comfort of being able to anticipate what is coming my way is nice, but I won’t grow if I don’t go! So I’ll sit here and write for a bit, but I’ll be certain to…
