Top Golf

We took an opportunity to go out of town to celebrate birthdays with two of our grandsons this weekend. The younger of the two has taken an interest in golf, so we went to Top Golf with the fam. It was a hoot!

My son-in-law has not spent much time on a golf course. I didn’t ask him to verify, but his form told all the story I needed to hear. He didn’t use a full back swing or follow through, so he had no power and a mean slice.

My wife and daughter both hit the ball super straight, but lacked power.

The older grandson kept lifting his club and topping the ball.

The younger boy was moving his head like an oil rig so he was making inconsistent contact with the ball.

I was trying to muscle the ball which yielded poor results.

All of us were less than stellar. We all knew the things that we needed to change in order to improve. Yet none of us could get all of the variables to line up.

Our recovery works the same way. We can see the things that we need to change. We can see that we are making mistakes. But we sometimes have difficulty changing that muscle memory. It’s easier to do the wrong thing.

As our time went by we all started to make some tweaks to the things we were doing. Things started to improve. Even on the second floor of a three tier facility, we needed to do the work in order to…

–Rise Up!!
