18 hours for 30 minutes

Two weeks ago my mother was visiting my daughter in Utah and fell. After a week or so in a rehab facility the time came for her to come home. She had a broken sacrum, so flying was out. That meant that Bev and I took a road trip to go fetch her. It’s just a tad longer than 9 hours each way in the car.

The road trip was great. Bev and I played games and talked and just enjoyed the scenery together. We also got to see our youngest grandchild for a bit. By a bit I mean around 30 minutes. 18 hours for 30 minutes? Yup, and you know what? It was totally worth it. Seeing the people you love is the most wonderful thing in the world. We were so happy to hold little Nora that the time spent getting there didn’t bother us. Given the opportunity, we’d do it again in a heartbeat. That’s how it is with family.

That’s how it is with God too. We have a God who will go to any lengths to see us, to be with us, and to love us. When you get down, think about how much God loves you and…
