Easter Eggs

We just finished Holy Week with a fantastic Easter celebration at my church. After we cleared away the sugar fog from the chocolate and eggs we got down to the business at hand: the resurrection. Our pastor brought a message that took a long look at Saturday; that long interval between the crucifixion and the resurrection. He challenged us to look at how long and difficult that day had to be for believers. Christ, THE Christ had died. Instead of storming into Jerusalem on a mighty charger, he had come meekly on a donkey and now, five days later his body was lying dead in a tomb. Not exactly supporting the claims and expectations of his followers. Saturday had to be horrible.
