So this weekend was our last planned trip to hockey for the season. Early in the year we bought a 3 game mini-plan. We wound up buying tickets for one other game as well as getting free tickets to two other games. You never know what’s going to happen when you go to a game, but I always hope for the win. Saturday was a disappointment my Kings lost 3-0. It’s a bit funny because 3 of four of the games we paid for were losses and the free games we went to both resulted in wins. So why do I bring this up on a Recovery blog? Am I trying to recover from the losses? Well, yes, but still it made me think about the unexpected joy in life.
So often I go into a situation with a preconceived notion of the outcome. A good friend told me that expectations are premeditated disappointments. Oh how true that can be. Both of the free hockey games came at us quite unexpectedly. They were just a blessing from God (hockey IS God’s game!)
As I write this at Starbucks I was just brought a free cup of coffee. Blessings abound. I need to keep them in front of my eyes. They will help me to…
–Rise Up!!
Very well said! Thank you for the reminder to look for the good, there is always more.
