You may have noticed that this was not published at the normal 9am Monday time. I have what I consider to be a pretty good reason: Disneyland!
My youngest grandson and his folks took Grammy to Disneyland for Mother’s Day and I decided to tag along. It’s what you do…
So yesterday instead of looking at pixels I was looking at Pixar and other animated things to amuse children of all ages. They call it the Magic Kingdom, but there’s really no magic going on there. It’s pretty much Luke 6:31 – “Do to others…”. They spent the day doing to us what they would want done to them. And it worked!!! We had strangers help us because we needed help. Then WE helped strangers because THEY needed help. I watched a child of around 2 just decide that they were done walking so they sat on the ground then began to lay down on the sidewalk, all the while pulling at the baby leash attached to them. The parents were a bit dismayed at the display that was about to happen with dozens of people trying to navigate around their toddler. Instead of yelling, I decided that the best thing to do was get right down on the ground and lay down beside them. The child’s face was remarkable. He looked at me and grinned. I asked “Now what are we gonna do?” Still smiling, he began to stand back up so I got up with him. No magic, just common sense.
Let’s find the people who are looking to give up and just come along side of them. It’s way better than yelling, and you never know, you just might make them smile!
-Rise Up!!
I like the way you think! Come along side people, meet them at their level. Reminds me of my heavenly dad.
