Today we got up in the wee hours of the morning to drive to Orange County. My wife is having cataract surgery this morning, so we all piled into the “Jesus Chrysler” for a road trip.
Part of the surgery for the cataracts includes a Lasik procedure. I’ve always loved lasers, ever since seeing them in Star Wars. Now Bev is going to voluntarily let someone zap her in the eye!
In recovery we often do things that seem scary, but by cutting away the things that hold us back we do indeed get better. Getting rid of the denial in my life opened new doors to healthy living. Removing the bitterness and resentment that I held so tightly allowed me to heal. Offering forgiveness for past wrongs lifted the weight that kept me from recovering.
So even though the lasers might seem terrifying I’m excited for my wife. In a few short hours she will see without her glasses for the first time in over 50 years. Here’s to recovery. Here’s to lasers. Here’s to you!
