Aloha!

Hello ev-er-y-body! (I feel so Elmo). This morning finds me sitting on my daughter’s lanai with a cup of coffee and my three grandsons watching the sunrise over Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii.  Life could be worse, right?!? If you’ve never visited Hawaii it is quite different from the desert of Ridgecrest. I love that God has made this great big world that has so much to offer!

As we were flying over I was thinking about how good God is. We had a long delay at LAX before takeoff, some of it before we boarded, then quite a long one whilst we sat at the gate waiting to push back. Then, about 90 minutes into the five hour flight the flight crew came on the PA and asked for medical professionals to make themselves known.  A man about three rows in front of us was having some sort of issues.  They found several doctors and nurses who teamed up to help stabalize the passenger, but for a while there was talk of turning the plane around and returning to LA since it was closer than Hilo. I really didn’t want to do that, but we knew that we needed to put the needs of the man who was ailing ahead of our wants. God took care of everything for us. God always does.

And now, here we are, in a whole different world that God also made for us. It’s amazing that he has made everything so different, yet all the same. Aloha and Mahalo!
