I was watching the Super Bowl with my friend at his house yesterday. It wasn’t a big party, pretty much me, him, and then his wife and son filtered in and out of the kitchen for the occasional snack. On one such occasion I asked his son (early twenties), “What’s your favorite number between 1 and 3?” His response was, “2”, which, as you know, is the best response.
A bit latter he came back and I asked the question again, but this time the range was between three and five. He came back with, “4.0”. Again, a great answer.
Kaleb is a shy kid who is on the spectrum but he usually enjoys our brief interactions and leaves them chuckling. It’s a fun way to include him with “the guys”.
When I’m cruising through my recovery I often get put into awkward situations where my options are limited. Making the right choice is important. When I make that choice surrounded by friends it becomes so much safer. Don’t wander far from your Recovery Family. We’ve got your back. We’ve got the front and both sides as well. It’s our job to help you…
