I had dinner with my mother last night. Over the past few years it’s become a bit of a tradition to go out to eat with her on Sundays. (Just as an aside, the three suggested words above my digital keyboard when I wanted to type “tradition” were: struggle, mess, and habit!🤣) From the time we picked her up until we dropped her off she complained about a lack of stability on her feet. She kept saying she felt like she might fall forward and that it must be “medical”. We held her hand as we walked and reminded her how to properly use her cane.
Sometimes our recovery walk gets wobbly. There are reasons for it that we might be able to identify, but we might also just know that they are “medical”. Whatever the cause, we know the treatment is to surround ourselves with solid people and things. Especially in the holiday seasons, our emotional state can waver.
