I’ve been basking in the glow of the jungle for a week now. Mrs MoM celebrated her birthday last week and our older grandson celebrates his tomorrow. Well, hopefully he can celebrate, he’s been sick again all weekend and is currently staying home from school. When you look at him he looks like a pretty normal 10 (almost 11) year old boy. But something inside is causing issues and so far those issues have evaded the probing and testing of several doctors and specialists. It’s been more than two years and we still can’t find the culprit. We are here in paradise, but it’s tough to enjoy when our boy is sick.
I talked to Mrs. Mom and she asked how I can “be ok with it.” I told her it’s totally out of my hands. The Prayer for Serenity tells me I gotta have the wisdom to know that I cannot “fix” this. So I pray everyday for that little boy’s health. I pray for the doctors and nurses and technicians that will try to help us find some answers. I pray for his parents. And then I let it go. That’s the only way I know how to…
