A Big Tent

I got to spend time in a tent this weekend. It was a ministry run by His Place in Westminster. They go to a park, throw up some easy ups and tents and do ministry for homeless people and people suffering from addictions.

Galatians 2:10 compels us to remember the poor people in our society. Sure, we could have run them off. We even had several law enforcement officers who seemed quite willing to help with such an endeavor. But instead we just showed them love. We brought food. We had a barber to give haircuts and brush out matted hair. We had dog food for their pets. We had a message. We had a baptismal tank. But most of all we had love.

That was the best part. I got to meet Kevin. He had lived a difficult life. No duh! But it didn’t matter to me who he was or where he came from, I just wanted to let him know that he was loved. It cost me very little to meet a guy at the bottom and help him to…
