Today I get to play the part of plumber. We have same new fixtures for our shower/tub that I need to install. Doing minor plumbing jobs is not a big deal. I know the drill. I’ve done plenty of it. This job is a little different in that I have to work through the back of the wall from inside the vanity of the master bathroom. Tight quarters, to be sure. Mrs. MoM told me that she hopes it isn’t too uncomfortable. I pretty much guarantee that it will be that! But what needs to be done needs to be done. Sure, I could rip out the vanity in the master bathroom, but then I need to repair all of that when I finish. More work and more money means more likely I won’t be doing that.
This job will frustrate me. I will forget to buy something at the hardware store which will require another trip to the hardware store. I’m likely to break something. I’m likely to not be able to find a tool. It’s gonna be a long day. But when I finish, it will look and work great.
The steps we take to get and stay sober take a lot of effort. Sometimes we find ourselves in very uncomfortable places. Sometimes we need to repeat a few steps. Sometimes we waste time and get frustrated, but at the end we have the thing that we set out for – sobriety. That makes it worth it. Sometimes you need to get into a cramped space in order to…
–Rise Up!!
