Spring Break

My grandson in Hawaii has been on Spring Break for the past week. Staying up late and sleeping in have become the thing for him. That all comes crashing down today. It’s back to school for him and back to work for his Mom as well.

I say it comes crashing down because there was no “pre-season” for getting back into the swing of regular bed times. This morning as I sit with my cuppa, I hear very little noise. Luc was carried from his room to the bathroom in a bleary-eyed stupor. It’s gonna be a rough morning for him.

As I prepared to come out for our visit I took a few days to ease into the early morning that would be required for our flight. I went to sleep earlier and woke up earlier each day for a few days. I didn’t love it, but I knew the dividends would happen on the day of our flight.

In recovery there are times that require us to change up our routine. When we see them in advance it gives us an opportunity to plan ahead. I’m definitely a YOLO kind of guy, but sometimes it helps to go to bed early, just so that I can…
