My kids have lived on the Big Island for the better part of a decade now. This weekend they did something new.
A typical weekend for them looks a lot like this: stay home, watch tv, play video games. Even though they live in a jungle paradise, they don’t really get out much. But this weekend they decided to go out and see the volcano which had a spouting fountain of lava. Mom was down to go, Dad was down to go, and even both boys were excited for the trip. No big surprises here, after all, it was hot lava and they are young boys.
The surprise was that they went bowling while they were visiting the volcano which. I had no idea that there was a small bowling alley nestled within the National Park. This too provided an hour of fun and laughs for the kids and family.
Keeping up our routines in recovery is very important part of success. Doing the things that work keep us safe. However, doing something new helps keep things interesting. Sometimes you play “Floor is Lava” at home, sometimes you see a lava floor on a volcano, but we always…
