It’s usually nice to be appreciated. I hesitate to use the word “always” because you tend to get into trouble with such superlatives, but honestly, I can’t really think of a time where feeling appreciated was bad for me. This past week I got an invitation from my daughter to come up and do some work at their house before the winter makes things difficult. That was fine and I felt needed. Cool.
Then she upped the ante. I told her that I was excited to be there to watch my grand daughter play soccer and I was asked if I would be willing to wear green face for the game. (The team color is green.) If you know me you know that going over the top on things is not something that holds me back. I love leaning into the absurd side of things! Typically I get asked to tone it down rather than turn it up. So this was a great way to show me that I was appreciated. Of course I am going to go in green face. It’s going to be amazing.
We all have special giftings. Perhaps you are a great prayer warrior. Perhaps you are a terrific listener. Or perhaps you really know how to just let lose and lose you mind at sports events for your family. Whatever it is that you do, do it with purpose and aplomb. Lean in and…
–Rise Up!!
