My wife, Mrs. MoM, frequently reminds me that not everyone shares my affinity for soccer. However, when you write something new off the top of your head every Monday morning and you have a sports-minded life it gets tough!
This week my family is going to see our favorite soccer team from England play a game in LA. Originally it was just me and one other person, but my girls got wind of things and it has become a family venture with nine people. I had two extra tickets so I decided to sell them on one of the numerous aftermarket sites.
My initial purchase had about $60 of “fees” tacked on by the always “fair” Ticketmaster. They have a resell marketplace so I tried them. They then low-balled me and tacked on more fees. I was going to get about $.50 on the dollar from the same company where I originally got them. Not good. I searched around on other sites until I found the most reasonable application of the nebulous word “fees”.
I waited and waited, but the tickets didn’t sell. With the game coming this week I began to get a bit nervous so I went to check their status and maybe lower my asking price. My problem was that I couldn’t remember where I posted them for sale. Ugggh! After logging in to all of the sites I knew I determined that I must have forgotten to finalize my sale offer and they were actually just sitting in my original account. I re-did the work, but this time I made notes about where they were.
An hour later they were sold!
In my recovery there are times where I am sure that I have done all of the right things. I just know that I’ve followed all the right steps. And still things go sideways. That’s when I do the simple, smart thing and go back to the beginning and start fresh. Sometimes I need to start over in order to…
–Rise Up!!
