Ok, so I’m willing to admit that the title of this post is a bit odd. As always, roll with your MoM for a bit and it will come together.
One of my grandsons went to his first ever birthday party this weekend. He’s nine, but he started school in 2020, which means he started during the global COVID 19 lock down. Parties and gatherings just became something that were not part of his landscape. Anyhow, this weekend was his first bite of the apple. The Birthday Boy from his class had the party at a facility that his family rented. It was basically a mansion, complete with pool and water slides. Being Hawaii, it was an ohana friendly event, so Luc got to bring his little brother Camden.
After all of the frolicking and fun, the kids were given a bag of party favors and everyone went their respective ways. And that is where we get our title. My daughter send me this picture along with the message “Cam is in his own world”.

That pretty much sums things up. But look at him. He’s enjoying life as it comes at him. He’s not caving in to peer pressure and turning his glasses in the usual direction. In our recovery we need to be sure to stay true to ourselves, even though the old “us” inside might want to do what everyone else is doing. We need to keep marching toward sobriety. You might even need to eat a Cheetoh, grab a Slinky, and flip your glasses upside down in order to…
Rise Up!!
